During theater school, Giek teamed up with Marleen van Zon to form a daring comedy duo that challenged taboos. Their songs revolved around themes like “love, men and other disgusting things”. They reached the finals of Holland’s Got Talent 2014, but their performance videos were deemed too provocative for viewing in Germany. They embarked on a successful comedy show tour, featuring sketches and songs, and also recorded an album through crowdfunding, creating a collection of playful and humorous sketches.
The album can still be purchased on Bandcamp and all the sketches and music videos are on the Youtube channel Kots Meiden. They also had a running Facebook Page.
The album and theatertour were funded by VSB Fonds and Voordekunst crowdfunding. Music production was done by Mike Meijer and Mozes Meijer.
Videos were shot in collaboration with Eric Calero and Romee van de Ven.
They played all over the country and had a TV presence at Xite Daily Noise and RTL.
