In the videoseries ‘Spiritual Ecology Trilogy,’ Giek explores how our inner spiritual struggles in the Anthropocene era are mirrored in our interactions with the environment.
We carry the weight of collective trauma from our ancestors and have become desensitized to the overwhelming violence surrounding us, directed towards humans, animals, and nature, which is incessantly amplified by constant news cycles. To truly understand the impact of our actions on ourselves and others, we need to reconnect with our humanity and reawaken our ability to feel. By incorporating ancestral wisdom and mysticism into our approach, we can tackle the challenge of climate change and work towards healing ourselves and our world.
Part 1 and 2 have been made using designs by Don Elektro.
Part 2 was originally commisioned by Rijkswaterstaat during the LEF Global Lab conversations 2020. Part 3 is yet to be made.
The original upload from part 1 had been online from 2019 on but recently has been removed from Youtube due to the portrayel of violence.
